Dearest Villagers,
Now, I know we have heard all this before, but I would be failing in my duty if I didn’t warn you that SSEN has notified a number of us – though not yet managed to write to everyone yet – of another whizzo jolly power cut. Presumably this is to do the job that they SAID they’d do last time, but didn’t get ‘round to… anyhoo, such fun… please note it in your diaries just in case they decide to rock up and actually snip the blue wire this time.
I am being a bit unfair, I know… we owe the brave chaps (and chapesses) shinning up poles in all weathers and risking Death by a Thousand Volts a great debt, as we’d all be really stuffed without a continuous supply of electrons… so let me rephrase. Hoop-la! SSEN will be making our electricity supply more stable and less likely to twang out on us during Strictly! Let there be much jubilation – on December 3rd, between 12.00 and 17.30 – hurrah!!
We will, of course, send a reminder nearer time… or cancellation or reschedulement as approbrious…
